Ten Buildings

1. The first building I came across that I thought was interesting was The Feynman Computing center. The building is looks very neat from the outside because the lighting goes up each block. However, it looks as though theres isn't many windows to create light on the inside.

2. Next building is an undergraduate dorm at MIT that is visually appealing and unique. some of the windows have color in them, and the shape of the building is unlike any other. I would love to live in this dorm just because it looks so cool!

3. The Campbell Cliffs estate was the next building that caught my eye. I like it because all the windows overlook the cliff which is a good design technique. ( to design something that enhances its natural surroundings) Also, the exterior has a wooden finish that ties in with nature, while still looking contemporary.

4. This particular building in Colorado is probably appealing because of its "rich" look. I think the house looks like a castle, which is symbolic for wealth, and being large. And who doesn't want a really big house that looks like a castle? The landscape around it also adds to the appeal of the house because it is on a beautiful hill with what looks like a creek below.

5. I am In love with this tree house! It is a restaurant in Japan, and looks like so much fun. The design of the building combines nature and contemporary lines. The tree is obviously the natural design and then as a contrast, the building has clean lines to show that it is actually in a tree.

7. The Telus Building is a building in Vancouver next to a city park. I think the building is very well designed because the "steps" that go up the side have trees on each step to integrate the building into the park. Typically this building would not look good next to a park because of its expansive size, but with the steps, it fits.

8. NTU in Singapore was my next building I looked at. I really like this building because they put grass on the sloped roof to look as though the roof is still the ground. The strange slopes of the roof create visual appeal as well as softening the sturcture of the building, while still keeping the building functional. Last, the center courtyard is reflected through the windows, which makes the building looks twice as big.

9. I knew I couldn't evaluate ten buildings without at least talking about the Eiffel tower in Paris France. I like this building particularly because its design allows you to almost see through the rods of metal. It iglhts up at night which makes it so beautiful. Last, the size of the building is important because it stands out over all other buildings.

10. Last but definitely not least is the Frank Gehry building at MIT. It's metal exterior and strange sharp angles make the building like no other. Also, the blue sheeting on the roof contrasts the sivler metal creating interest.
