Pencil Box

Here's my first trial pencil box. Looks about the same except for the colors, and the outer box is wrapped in paper. However, you can probably tell that the craft is not that good. Also, the boxes didn't fit together very well.


This is my final pencil box for my studio class. I really like mine because it's very simple and well crafted. I also love the colors. I did a lighter green on the outer box because I wanted it to look like the darker green was meant to be pushed in. You can probably tell that I took more time photographing this one also. Looks much better than my first picture.

IAR Egg project

"Make a place for an egg that celebrates a quality of the egg using only paper"

This is my "place" for an egg to celebrate the shape of the egg. I really love my project because I think the straight lines of the black paper contrasts with the round shape of the egg. I also really like how the egg is suspended.

People Drawings

So for this assignment we had to draw contours of people while trying to get facial expressions. I really don't like any of my drawings because they all look distorted and weird. hopefully by class tomorrow I will learn a few things to help me out, but for now it looks as though I drew aliens.

By the way, I do love the huge foot in my first one, just because it's so funny. haha

Negative Space Bicycle

This drawing was done using only the negative space. However, I don't think it was very successful because I did a little more than just the negative space. I think I was probably sitting too far back because it was really hard to see the shapes and lines that I needed to draw.

Downtown Contours

I did these drawings in downtown Greensboro on an extremely hot day. I think I did okay considering I didn't have much time to do them, but I wish I had taken more time on them because I left out a lot of details, and my proportions aren't all correct.

Contour of the Science Building

The first drawing was done yesterday in class, while the second was done about two hours ago after taking feedback from my teachers. I think I did better on my revision because I tried to use less lines and more clean lines.

Negative Space Drawing

I drew these trying to only focus on the negative space of each object, which turned out to be much harder than I expected. I thought it was difficult to focus on just shapes because I like to draw details and shading.
